INSTALLATION "IN CAGE?"
Where am I? Do those around me influence me? Do I accept another's opinion or do I make my own? Can I slow down my busy lifestyle? Am I good enough? Aren't my dreams and ambitions bigger than myself? These and countless other questions surround people's lives. It is like arguing with yourself or yourself with the outside world. Like a journey to find yourself and see where you really are
This installation is a frame made of strips of different glass glued together, creating an imitation of a wall. A light shines above the frame, casting shadows on the walls and anyone standing between the glass and the wall. The light above creates shadow for person there as well, projecting it right where the grid shadow is. Being in this place, you can observe two extremes - a free physical person, but his shadow trapped in a cage. It's like a metaphor that often we let ourselves and those around us believe in the words "I'm fine", but in reality our inner person feels trapped like a bird in a cage
“You have wrapped rods around my body, but you will never be able to wrap your rods in my head. Here lies my strength and your weakness." /A. Bell's novel The Cage
